A Peoria, Illinois travel poster taken from the water. A bright yellow suspension bridge crosses the upper third on two tall portal towers, its cables sweeping down to the deck, while the downtown towers stand behind it in cool blue-grey. The lower half is all river — dark blue swells broken by a wide track of white sunlight.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes, hard edges, and a very small palette used with discipline: soft cornflower sky, four blues from pale steel to near-navy for the water and the skyline, warm concrete grey for the piers, and a single saturated yellow-gold for the bridge steel. Sun on the river is drawn literally as burst stars and short white dashes, with the bridge's gold reflected in a broken column beneath it. The buildings are reduced to plain rectangles with no window detail, which keeps the bridge as the only thing in focus. Typography is white and centred at the top: PEORIA above ILLINOIS. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- One bold colour — the gold bridge is the only warm note in an otherwise blue print, so it carries the room.
- The water does half the work — the sunlit swells fill the bottom half with texture, not clutter.
- Read from the river — a low, on-the-water viewpoint rather than the usual hilltop skyline shot.
- Easy to place — blue and gold sit comfortably next to navy, grey, brass and oak.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — stretched and set in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Deep blues make this an easy fit in a study or a north-facing living room where you want depth rather than brightness. The gold picks up brass hardware and warm lamplight, so the bedroom scene above with its brass pendant suits it well. On a white wall it stays graphic and cool; on a sage or slate wall the yellow gets louder.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The composition is bold and simple, so it works from 12" x 18" upward. At 24" x 36" the sun sparkles on the water become their own texture across the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper ships rolled and unframed. Matte canvas is stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? Two lines of white capitals at the top: PEORIA, with ILLINOIS beneath. There is no other text on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
