A bucharest parliament poster taken from street level on the boulevard, with the enormous pale limestone palace stepping back in tiers above a double row of clipped street trees and an empty road curving away in the foreground.
About the artwork
The drawing is built on one long diagonal. The palace enters at the left edge already large, then recedes to the right through set-back after set-back, each block a slightly different value of ivory, bone and warm grey so the mass reads as depth rather than a flat wall. Every tier is drawn: the deep arcaded loggia at the centre, the rows of identical square windows above it, the balustrades, the small flag on the roofline. To the right the building keeps going into secondary wings and a lower colonnaded block, and the scale only becomes obvious when you notice how tiny the lamp posts are against it. Below, a hedge of olive and yellow-green trees runs the full width, planted over a low white balustrade with square posts and clipped box between them. The road is bare warm sand with pale lane markings and a wide teal shadow lying across it. The sky is flat mid-blue with two thin contrail streaks. The city name in wide-tracked uppercase with Romania beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Scale you can feel. The trees and lamp posts are there to tell you how big the building is.
- An architectural subject, not a skyline. One structure, drawn properly, from the pavement.
- Ivory against olive and blue. A cool, orderly palette that stays quiet on a busy wall.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This one behaves like a drawing of a building, so it suits a study, home office or hallway more than a bedroom. Cool white, pale grey and soft putty walls let the ivory stonework stay bright; anything too warm fights it. Black or dark walnut frames sharpen the horizontal ranks of windows, while brushed steel and glass furniture suit its formality. It hangs comfortably beside the Sibiu print as a Romanian pair, or with other capital-city architecture prints in a grid.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What words are printed on it? The lettering reads Bucharest, with Romania beneath. The palace is the subject of the drawing, but the wording stays at city level.
What time of day is it? Late morning, judging by the short shadows under the trees and the flat light on the facade.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
