A ramen cat print for the kitchen, where noodles are an actual plan and not just a picture. An orange tabby with yellow eyes grips a pair of chopsticks and slurps straight from a black bowl. The pink background is mottled like an old screen print, and a black brushed banner runs down the left side.
About the artwork
Orange, black and pink make up the palette: the tabby in orange, the bowl and the banner in solid black, and a pink ground inked unevenly, the way a worn screen print looks. The cat is the center of attention, yellow eyes bright, noodles lifted between chopsticks on their way from bowl to mouth. The black banner on the left is a brushed graphic block that balances the weight of the bowl. Retro in feel, built from flat color. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- A cat caught mid-slurp. The chopsticks are up and the noodles are moving, which gives the print the timing of a comic panel.
- Pink, but not sweet. The mottled, uneven pink reads as worn ink rather than candy, and the black bowl and banner keep it grounded.
- Yellow eyes as the focal point. Against orange fur and a pink ground, the yellow eyes are what you catch first from across the kitchen.
- Made for where noodles happen. It hangs naturally near a rice cooker, a breakfast table or the shelf where the bowls live.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it in the kitchen above a small breakfast table or at the end of a run of open shelves. It sits well on white, cream or sage walls, and the pink warms up a kitchen full of stainless steel. At 16" x 24" it fits the gap between cabinets and a window; 18" x 24" suits a bare wall by the table. A black floating frame repeats the bowl and banner. Pair it with a stack of real ramen bowls on the shelf below.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Where in the kitchen should it go? Somewhere you see it while cooking or eating: above a breakfast table, beside open shelves or next to the fridge. Keep it a little away from the stove so it stays clear of steam and splatter.
What wall colors work with the pink background? White, cream and sage green all suit it. A strong red wall tends to compete with the pink and orange.
Which size fits between kitchen cabinets? 16" x 24" usually fits a narrow gap between cabinets or beside a window. On an open wall by a table, 18" x 24" gives the cat more presence.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
