An Old Man of Storr poster from the path below: the single dark basalt pinnacle standing straight up out of the ridge, its broken companion crags beside it, brilliant green grass falling away on every side, and the flat blue sea and sky filling the whole top of the frame.
About the artwork
Two colours and one shape. The rock is near-black with just enough grey and violet in it to show the columnar fracture, and the grass around it is the most saturated green in the entire catalogue — a hard, almost acid green that only works because the rock beside it is so dark. Between them the drawing does the real work: the slope is built from hundreds of small grass strokes and scattered boulders, all following the fall of the land, so the ground reads as steep. The stony path comes in at the bottom edge and leads the eye straight to the pinnacle. Behind, the sea is a single flat band with a thin cloud line above it. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Scotland beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Green against near-black. The highest colour contrast in the series, and it carries across a room.
- A silhouette nothing else shares. The pinnacle is recognisable at 8" x 12".
- The path puts you there. You are standing on the walk, not looking at a postcard.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The green is strong enough to be the colour in a room, so give it a plain wall — white, bone or pale grey — and a simple frame. Black frames echo the rock and are the safest choice. It is a good office, hallway or stairwell print and an obvious gift for a hillwalker. Pair it with another high-contrast landscape rather than a soft cityscape, which it will overpower.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view from? From the walking path on the slope below the pinnacle, looking up at it with the sea behind.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
