A Niagara Falls travel poster taken from the American side, standing on the rock ledge beside the brink: the water bending over the lip in a broad turquoise sheet, breaking white down the face, and boiling into foam at the base, with the far cataract drawn as a second pale line across the gorge and the river running bright blue between them.
About the artwork
Screen-print style illustration with the falling water built from hundreds of fine parallel strokes, which is what gives the sheet its motion. The palette is almost entirely blue: pale sky blue overhead, turquoise at the brink, chalk white in the foam and mist, and a colder teal in the river below. Against that sit dark slate cliffs with visible columnar jointing in the near foreground, olive and forest green scrub on the ledges, and a wooded bank upstream with a clifftop railing along it. Tall white cumulus stack up at the top right, and a faint blue-grey treeline closes the horizon. The lettering reads NIAGARA FALLS with NEW YORK beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Drawn from the brink — the viewpoint is level with the lip of the falls, not a distant postcard angle from the water.
- Both cataracts in one frame — the near falls in full detail, the far one as a quiet line across the gorge.
- Water you can read — the parallel-stroke technique separates the smooth green brink from the broken white below it.
- Cool blues that stay calm — a near-monochrome print that adds scale to a room without adding noise.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Turquoise and white are easy neighbours for cool grey, soft white and pale blue walls, and the print holds its own in a bright room because so much of it is near-white. It works well over a bed or a bath, and the panelled white wall with the herringbone floor in the photographs above suits it particularly. A white or natural frame keeps the mood airy; black turns the dark cliff into the anchor instead.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The fine water strokes reward scale, so 18" x 24" and up. Above a bed or a sofa, 24" x 36" gives the drop its full height.
Does it come framed? Paper prints arrive unframed and rolled. Framed canvas ships ready to hang in white, black, espresso or natural.
Which side of the falls is shown? The New York side, looking along the American brink with the far cataract in the middle distance, which is why the lettering names New York.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
