This New River Gorge National Park watercolor print shows the steel arch of the New River Gorge Bridge spanning a gorge full of fall color in West Virginia. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the gorge, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Autumn leaves are dotted in thick, overlapping layers of orange, red and gold, and fine ink lines draw the steel truss of the arch and the sandstone ledges. The left edge breaks into orange-red splatter, with long drips at the lower left. The rust-brown bridge crosses the gorge in the middle distance, the New River winds from the center down to the lower right, and wooded gorge walls rise on both sides. The Canyon Rim overlook, with a stone railing and visitors on a sandstone outcrop, sits on the left, and rounded Appalachian ridges fade behind. Blazing leaves mark mid autumn. "NEW RIVER GORGE" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Rafts on the river. Three yellow rafts run the rapids far below the bridge.
- Overlook hikers. A small group stands at the overlook while a hawk circles over the gorge.
- Peak fall foliage. Orange, red and gold leaves make this the most colorful print in the park set.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Orange, red, gold and forest green suit a living room, a den or a fall-themed entryway with warm wood, plaid or leather. It is a great gift for a whitewater rafter, a climber or anyone who has stood at the rim to see the bridge.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of New River Gorge National Park? No. It is an artistic interpretation of the bridge and gorge, simplified into one watercolor-style view.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "NEW RIVER GORGE," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
