A Nerja travel poster looking down the cliff into water so clear the rocks show through it: the round stone viewpoint with its ring of palms juts out at the top, a beach club sits in the cove below it, and pale boulders lie scattered across a turquoise seabed in the whole lower half of the sheet.
About the artwork
Two thirds of this print is water, and the water is the reason it works. The seabed is painted in translucent layers — jade in the shallows, deeper green-blue where it drops away — with individual submerged boulders drawn in soft ochre and cream, their outlines wobbling slightly where the surface ripples over them. Nearer the front, rocks break through into full sunlight and get hard bright edges and a fringe of white. At the top left the town stacks up in whitewashed cubes and terracotta roofs, one building painted cobalt blue, with date palms and spiky agaves growing out of the cliff between them. The circular viewpoint below is drawn stone by stone in its curved retaining wall, planters and a row of tall palms standing on top. In the cove to its left, rows of blue parasols and loungers line a small beach, and a few swimmers are out in the shallows. To the right the sea flattens into a wide band of sun glitter under a pale gold horizon. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Spain beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- You can see the bottom. Submerged boulders read clearly through the water, which is rare in a poster.
- A working beach, not an empty one. Parasols, loungers and swimmers give the cove a summer afternoon.
- Jade to deep teal. The whole print is a graded study of one colour, warmed by ochre rock.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The green-blue is bright and shallow rather than deep-sea navy, so it belongs in a room you want to feel cool: a bathroom, an en suite, a summer bedroom. Put it on white, pale aqua or sand-coloured walls, near cotton, ceramic and pale wood. White frames disappear into the water; light oak picks up the boulders and the terracotta roofs. It makes an unexpected pairing with the Mezquita arches print from Córdoba, one Andalusian print looking outward at the sea and one looking inward at stone.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What is the round terrace at the top? The palm-ringed viewpoint built out on the headland above the coves, drawn here with its curved stone wall, planters and the beach club tucked in beside it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
