A Na Pali Coast illustrated print drawn from a palm-shaded bluff looking down the shoreline. Fluted green cliffs step away into the distance, a rust-red eroded headland breaks the run of green, and the water shifts from navy to pale turquoise where surf curls onto a thin sand beach scattered with black lava boulders. Coconut fronds hang into the top corner.
About the artwork
Painterly illustration with crisp edge work — every flute and gully on the cliff face is shaded separately, so the ridges read as folded rock rather than a flat silhouette. The palette runs deep teal and cobalt in the open ocean, aqua and pale jade over the reef shallows, dark forest and lime green across the pali and the hillside trees, iron red and ochre on the headland, and cream cumulus stacked along the horizon under a clear blue sky. Two tropicbirds cross the upper left. White capitals at the bottom read NA PALI COAST, then KAUAI and HAWAII split by a dot. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The whole coastline, not one cliff — the ridges recede in four layers, which is how the pali actually looks from a viewpoint on the shore.
- Water in real gradients — navy, teal, aqua and foam are separated cleanly, so the reef line shows without any photographic haze.
- Framed by palms — the fronds in the top corner give the composition depth and place you on the island rather than out at sea.
- A second look at Kauai — a more detailed, painted treatment for people who already know this coast from the water or the Kalalau Trail.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Turquoise and jade against a rust headland give this print more colour than most coastal art, so it can carry a plain wall on its own. Warm white, sand and pale clay walls let the water read brightest; a deep green wall pulls the cliffs forward. Natural oak suits the sand and palm tones, as in the bench and alcove photographs above, and white frames keep it light in a bedroom or bathroom.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The cliff detail and the reef gradients open up at 24" x 36" and 30" x 40". At 12" x 18" the layered ridges and the turquoise band still read clearly, which suits a gallery wall of island prints.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
Is there another Na Pali Coast design? Yes. The shop carries a second Na Pali Coast print drawn in a different, simpler illustration style with its own view of the cliffs. This one is the detailed painted version seen past palms from the shoreline, so the two can hang as a pair without repeating each other.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
