A Mobile Alabama travel poster of the battleship moored at Battleship Memorial Park on Mobile Bay. The ship is seen broadside from the water, bow to the right, its superstructure and fire-control tower stacked up against an empty sky, gun turrets and railings picked out along the deck. A low green treeline and a few small waterfront buildings sit on the far bank behind it.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes worked almost entirely in one hue. The whole print runs on blue: a pale, hazy sky at the top, deeper steel and slate blues in the hull and superstructure, and a mid-blue bay in the lower half broken by long horizontal ripple bands and a silver strip of glare across the waterline. The only relief is a narrow band of muted green trees and two or three terracotta specks of building on the right horizon. Rigging, masts and antennas are drawn as thin dark lines, and the ship's reflection breaks up into soft vertical smears. Typography is thin white capitals: MOBILE across the top, ALABAMA spaced beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Near-monochrome by design — an almost entirely blue print, calm enough to hang anywhere.
- Engineering detail — masts, radar, turrets and railings are all drawn in, not implied.
- A real memorial — meaningful for Navy families and anyone with a Mobile Bay connection.
- Big empty sky — the negative space at the top gives the wall room to breathe.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Because it is all one hue, this is the easiest print in the set to place: it disappears comfortably onto white, pale grey and soft blue walls, and it stays quiet next to a busy bookshelf. Black framing suits the grey steel; natural oak softens it, as in the oak console setting in the photographs above. A natural fit for a study or home office wall.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The rigging and mast detail is fine, so 18" x 24" upward keeps it crisp. Above a desk, 24" x 36" gives the ship its length.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas ships in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed text reads MOBILE across the top with ALABAMA below it. The ship shown is the battleship USS Alabama, berthed at Battleship Memorial Park on the east side of Mobile Bay.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
