A Menton travel poster from across the harbour: the old town stacked in apricot, lemon and coral up to a tall bell tower, white boats lined along the pontoons in front of it, and bare grey mountains standing straight up behind the roofs.
About the artwork
Three tiers, each a different temperature. The town is the warm one and it is drawn house by house — narrow tall facades, every one a slightly different shade of apricot, lemon, peach or coral, with louvered shutters in green and grey, wrought-iron balconies, and pantile roofs turned at every angle so the block reads as stacked rather than flat. The bell tower anchors the middle, rising in stages in ochre and cream with pilasters, an arched belfry and a dark ribbed cupola. Below the town a stone quay of round arches carries the promenade, with a line of palms in front of it. At the waterline a dozen white motor cruisers sit bow-on, their rails and masts picked out in thin lines. The mountains behind are pale grey and violet limestone with sunlit ridges and dark scrub in the gullies. The bottom third is teal water, worked over with hundreds of short orange reflection strokes. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with France beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A whole citrus palette. Apricot, lemon, peach and coral in one block, and no two facades the same.
- Mountains right behind the roofs. The thing that separates Menton from every other Riviera view.
- Reflections stroke by stroke. The water is built from small orange marks rather than a wash.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
There is more colour here than in most Riviera prints, so give it a plain wall — white, chalk or the palest grey — and let the facades do the work. It sits happily with rattan, brass and painted wood in a kitchen or breakfast room. A white frame keeps the citrus clean; natural oak warms it further if the room runs cool. Hang it with the Promenade des Anglais and Eze prints as a Cote d'Azur row of three.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What is the tall tower in the middle? The baroque bell tower above the old town, drawn in ochre and cream with a dark ribbed cupola. Apart from the mountains it is the tallest thing in the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
