A Marblehead lighthouse Ohio poster looking along the limestone shelf at the tip of the Marblehead Peninsula. The tapered stone tower stands at the end of the point with its red lantern room and gallery railing catching the sun, a small keeper's door at its base, and the open water of Lake Erie running flat to the horizon on the right.
About the artwork
Hard-edged vector work with heavy use of cut-shape shadow: the foreground limestone is broken into slabs and joints, each one given its own facet of cream, buff and cool blue-grey. The palette is tight — warm sandstone and pale gold against teal and deep petrol blue, with the red lantern housing as the only saturated accent in the whole print. The lake is drawn as flat bands of blue with gold sun-glints and small starburst sparkles scattered across it. Low scrub sits on the rock behind the tower. Typography is thin white capitals: MARBLEHEAD across the top, OHIO spaced beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The oldest light on the Great Lakes — a Lake Erie landmark rather than a generic seaside tower.
- One red accent — the lantern room does all the colour work against blue and stone.
- Rock texture up close — the faceted limestone slabs fill the lower half with real detail.
- Great Lakes, not ocean — a nautical print for people whose water is fresh.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cream stone and teal water is a forgiving pairing — it sits well on white, greige and pale blue walls, and the buff rock warms up against the beige console setting in the photographs above. Black framing sharpens the red lantern; natural oak leans into the limestone. It suits a bathroom, a stairwell or any room where you want a cool, clean wall.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The tower reads clearly even small, so 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" works in a narrow space. 24" x 36" lets the limestone slabs open out.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas ships in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
Is this Marblehead in Massachusetts? No. This is Marblehead, Ohio, on Lake Erie — Marblehead Lighthouse at the eastern tip of the Marblehead Peninsula in Ottawa County, not the town of Marblehead on the Massachusetts coast.
What does the poster say? The printed text reads MARBLEHEAD across the top with OHIO below it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
