This Lake Atitlan Guatemala poster looks down a sandy footpath that drops through terraced crop rows and a bank of red heliconia toward the water. Beyond the shoreline the lake spreads in bands of deep blue and teal, and two forested volcano cones rise on the far side, each one repeated upside down in the still surface below.
About the artwork
The scene is built in flat vector shapes with layered screen-print banding, so the water reads as ruled stripes of cobalt, teal and pale jade rather than blended paint. The palette runs from a turquoise sky and lime-green terraces to dark forested slopes, cream sand and scarlet and magenta blooms at the lower right. A high viewpoint sets the path as a diagonal leading the eye from the bottom edge to the far shore, with a leafy branch overhanging the top right corner. The lettering is printed across the sky in white: LAKE ATITLAN above GUATEMALA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Two volcanoes, twice over — the cones and their mirrored reflections give the print a calm symmetry down the middle.
- Depth you can walk into — foreground flowers, terraced fields, lake, then peaks, stacked in four clear layers.
- Green and blue that stay easy — jade, lime and cobalt sit together without shouting, so the print settles into a room.
- Highland detail up close — planting rows, small field plots on the far slope and heliconia spikes reward a second look.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The cobalt and jade centre of this print is cool, so it holds its own on a warm wall — clay, ochre or a soft terracotta all lift the scarlet heliconia in the foreground. Against sage or olive paint the greens read as one continuous landscape, which suits a bedroom or a reading corner. Light oak and rattan echo the sandy path better than a dark frame, though black steel and walnut make the turquoise sky snap. It sits well above a cream sofa with one burnt-orange cushion, or over a wooden desk where the blue keeps the room quiet.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What are the striped green fields in the foreground? They are terraced hillside plots stepping down toward the shore, drawn as curved rows of planting rather than any one named farm.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
