A Lafayette Louisiana travel poster set in the cypress swamp country around the city. Buttressed bald cypress trunks rise straight out of flat water, Spanish moss hangs in long silver curtains from the branches, and a channel of open water runs back through the trees toward a pale gap of sky. Duckweed lies across the surface in bright green drifts.
About the artwork
Layered flat shapes with a heavy sense of depth: near trunks in warm salmon-tan bark, mid-ground trees dropping into blue-green, and a far bank compressed into near-black teal. The palette runs deep forest green, emerald, teal and petrol blue, lifted by chartreuse duckweed and a warm cream glow in the sky behind the canopy. The moss is drawn as fine pale grey-green strands, and the water carries a full mirrored reflection of trunks and sky. Foreground reeds and a cypress knee break the bottom edge. Typography is thin white capitals across the upper third, reading LAFAYETTE. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Cajun country as it actually looks — cypress, moss and still water rather than a generic forest scene.
- Depth you can read — four distinct planes of green pull the eye down the channel.
- A near-monochrome green — restful on a wall, and easy to live with in a room you sit in.
- Reflection detail — the mirrored trunks and duckweed drifts hold up close to the print.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Deep green is a natural fit for the sage green room in the photographs above, and it also sits well on cream, clay and warm white. The salmon bark tone means walnut and espresso framing reads warmer than oak here. Hang it where you want the wall to feel cooler and shadier — a reading corner, a north-facing bedroom, a study.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The layered depth needs room. 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" lets the far channel open up; below 16" x 24" the moss detail starts to close in.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas ships in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
Where is this? The swamp and bayou landscape shown surrounds Lafayette in south Louisiana, the heart of Acadiana. The printed title on the artwork reads LAFAYETTE.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
