A koi fish print for a small bathroom wall that needs one clean, bright shape. Two red and white koi swim in a circle inside a pale blue oval, and three round red dots float around them. The words KOI and SYMBOL OF LUCK say plainly what the picture is about.
About the artwork
Red, white and pale blue do most of the work, with navy used only for the scales on one fish. The two koi follow each other in a circle, so the oval reads like a small pond seen from above and the eye never finds an end point. Three round red dots sit around the oval and repeat the red of the fish. The lettering reads "KOI" and "SYMBOL OF LUCK," and koi are a traditional symbol of perseverance and luck. Minimalist and flat. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- A circle that never stops. The two fish follow each other around the oval, which gives a still bathroom wall a sense of slow movement.
- One navy detail. The navy scales on a single koi tell the pair apart and add a darker note to an otherwise light print.
- It says what it means. SYMBOL OF LUCK is printed on the art, so the meaning of koi is right there for guests.
- Room to breathe. One oval and three dots keep the design spare, which stays calm in a tight space.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Put it above the towel rail or beside the mirror in a bathroom with white tile, pale blue or soft gray walls. The red picks up any warm accent in the room, from a terracotta soap dish to a rust hand towel. In a powder room, 12" x 18" fits between fixtures; over a bathtub, 18" x 24" has more presence. A white floating frame keeps it light. Pair it with a small potted fern on the shelf below for a green note beside the blue.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What do koi symbolize? Koi are a traditional symbol of perseverance and luck, which is why this print carries the words SYMBOL OF LUCK.
Can it hang in a small bathroom? Yes. At 12" x 18" it fits a narrow wall beside a mirror or above a towel rail without crowding the room.
Why is one koi different from the other? One of the two fish has navy scales, which tells the pair apart and adds a darker accent to the red, white and pale blue.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
