A Kobuk Valley National Park vintage travel poster, printed full bleed: a sandy trail with footprints leading past rust-red rock and sage shrubs toward a large golden dune field and distant blue hills. White lettering reads ESTABLISHED DECEMBER 2, 1980 across the top and KOBUK VALLEY NATIONAL PARK at the foot, around the National Park Service bison seal.
About the artwork
The trail runs up from the bottom center, and the footprints do the work of inviting you in, straight toward the dunes in the middle distance. Gold sand under a deep blue sky makes it look warmer than you would expect from the Arctic. These are Arctic sand dunes, north of the Arctic Circle, on the migration route of the Western Arctic caribou herd.
Why you'll love it
- A surprise from Alaska. Sand gold and deep blue suit bright living rooms, offices and hallways.
- Lines up in a grid. Every poster in this series shares the same full-bleed layout and white lettering, so several parks hang cleanly side by side.
- Standard poster proportions. The 2:3 sizes drop straight into ready-made frames, from 8" x 12" to 24" x 36".
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, color-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 24" x 36", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 18" to 24" x 36".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 18" to 24" x 36".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
It reads like a desert print, so treat it as one: sand, clay and a blue accent. Natural oak or white framing suits it.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the color, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? 16" x 24" and up if it hangs alone; 12" x 18" works inside a gallery wall of several parks.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
How is this different from your other Kobuk Valley prints? This is the full-bleed vintage travel poster: a footprinted trail to arctic sand dunes. The WPA poster, screen print, retro, mid-century, panoramic, oil, watercolor, illustrated and landmark Kobuk Valley prints in the shop are separate designs.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Damage, defects & care
Every piece is printed for you after you order, so we cannot take a print back for a change of mind — please check the size and material first. Our Size Guide shows every size drawn to scale.
If it arrives damaged, misprinted or simply wrong, email us within 14 days with photos of the piece and the packaging. We reprint and reship it free, and there is nothing to send back.
Keep artwork out of direct sunlight. Dust paper prints with a clean, dry cloth; wipe canvas and framed canvas gently with a clean, damp cloth. Handle paper prints by the edges until they are framed. More care tips are in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
