A Kinsale travel poster from across the water on a still morning: a long terrace of painted houses in red, yellow, blue and green standing above a stone quay wall, small fishing boats moored in a line in front of them, and the whole row laid out again upside down in the harbour.
About the artwork
The sheet divides almost exactly in half, houses above and reflection below, and the difference between the two halves is the point. Up top everything is crisp: flat blocks of pillar-box red, mustard, cobalt, coral and sage, each house with its own slate or dark roof, chimney stacks, sash windows and doors picked out in a contrasting colour. Behind them a green hillside of hedged fields rises to a plain blue sky. At water level a grey stone wall runs the width of the picture, with a dozen small boats along it — hulls in red, white and blue, cabins and masts drawn simply. Below the wall the reflection softens: the same colours smeared into vertical streaks and broken by fine horizontal ripples, so the eye reads it as water rather than a mirror. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Ireland beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Colour with structure. A dozen saturated house fronts held in line by the quay wall.
- The reflection carries the bottom half. Soft streaked colour under crisp flat shapes.
- Boats drawn one by one. Each hull and cabin has its own colour rather than being a repeated shape.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is the brightest print in the Irish group, so it earns its place in a kitchen, a playroom or a hallway that needs lifting. It reads best on white or pale grey walls, where the house colours do not have to compete, and sits well with painted furniture, cane and enamel. White frames keep it fresh; black frames make the colour blocks read harder. Hang it beside the Kilkenny or Kylemore Abbey prints for a calm-and-bright contrast.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Are the house colours accurate? They follow the painted terraces along the harbour, drawn as flat blocks rather than street by street, so treat it as a portrait of the row and not a survey.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
