A Kanarra Creek Falls Utah poster looking upstream from the creek bed, where a wide sheet of water drops over a red rock lip into a shallow turquoise pool. The wooden log ladder that hikers climb runs up the right-hand wall, cottonwoods crowd the bend above the falls, and a bank of cumulus sits over the canyon rim.
About the artwork
Densely painted illustration with hard-edged colour blocking in the rock and softer brushwork in the water. The palette is brick and rust red in the sandstone, cool violet-grey in the shaded walls, deep pine and lime green in the trees, white and pale blue in the falling water, aquamarine in the pool, and a strong cobalt sky broken by cream clouds. The hand-built ladder, lashed timber rungs and all, is the detail that identifies this canyon. Set in white capitals across the base: KANARRA CREEK CANYON, with UTAH beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A slot canyon you walk through water — Kanarra is a wet canyon, and the print keeps the creek in the frame the whole way.
- The ladder is the landmark — anyone who has hiked it recognises the timber ladder immediately.
- Red against aqua — the sandstone and the pool sit opposite each other on the colour wheel and give the print its punch.
- Permit-day memento — access is limited and booked ahead, which makes this a good print for people who actually got in.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The rust reds want a warm ground, so cream, putty or a soft terracotta wall suits this better than cold grey. A natural oak frame keeps the red and the wood tones talking to each other, as in the arched alcove shelf in the photographs above. If the room already leans warm, the white floating frame gives the aqua pool somewhere to breathe.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The ladder rungs and the water texture reward a larger print, so 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" is worth it on a main wall. At 12" x 18" it still reads clearly as a waterfall in a red canyon.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? The lettering reads KANARRA CREEK CANYON above a single line, UTAH. The falls themselves are not named on the artwork.
How does it differ from the other Utah canyon prints? This is the wet canyon with the waterfall and ladder. The shop's other Utah canyon prints show a dry, narrow sandstone slot and a basin of freestanding stone chimneys instead.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Matte canvas
