A Houston Texas travel poster built around one building: a single dark mirrored tower with a stepped, notched crown, standing alone above a low field of pale mid-rise blocks and a thick green tree canopy. On the far left horizon the downtown cluster sits small and hazy, which is exactly how Houston reads from the west side — two skylines, miles apart, with trees in between.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes, hard edges, no outlines. The sky is a single graded wash of teal that lightens toward the horizon, so the tower's glass reads almost black against it. The building is drawn in deep petrol blue with thin gold-cream lines for every floor and a lit crown; the surrounding blocks are sand, bone and dusty blue. The foreground is layered olive and forest green foliage. Typography sits at the top in white: HOUSTON in wide-tracked capitals with TEXAS smaller beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- One tower, not a wall of them — the composition gives Houston a single recognisable silhouette instead of a generic skyline strip.
- Two skylines in one frame — the distant downtown on the horizon tells you how far this city spreads.
- Trees in the foreground — the green canopy is a genuinely Houston detail and softens all that glass.
- Teal and gold — a cool, contemporary palette that reads well in an office or a modern living room.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The teal sky is the loudest thing here, so give it a calm wall: chalk white, warm grey or a pale putty. Against a deeper navy or charcoal wall the gold window lines start to glow. Black or espresso frames echo the tower's glass; natural oak leans on the green foliage instead. It sits comfortably above a desk or a low sideboard.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The tower is slim, so height helps. 12" x 18" or A3 works beside a desk; 24" x 36" or A1 lets the foreground trees and the far skyline both stay readable.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? Only two lines at the top, in white: HOUSTON, with TEXAS beneath it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
