A Hoboken New Jersey poster that looks north along the old ferry slips: a row of weathered timber pilings marching out into flat green Hudson water, a boardwalk on the right, and the copper-green clock tower of the red-brick terminal rising over the pier sheds. The far shore is only a pale grey band under a wide, quiet sky.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges and a low, close-to-the-water viewpoint. The palette is narrow and cool: seafoam sky, a cream band of cloud on the horizon, deep pine and jade for the river, weathered driftwood grey for the pilings, and one warm accent — the terracotta brick of the terminal with its arched windows and iron lamp posts. The tower is drawn in oxidised copper with a clock face, a steep spire and a slim finial. Typography sits at the top in white: HOBOKEN above NEW JERSEY, wide-tracked sans serif. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The tower, not a skyline — the subject is Hoboken's own waterfront landmark, framed from the pier rather than from across the river.
- Water-level perspective — the pilings pull your eye down the length of the print, which suits a tall wall or a narrow gap beside a door.
- Quiet colours — greens, greys and one brick accent, so it settles into a room instead of shouting at it.
- A commuter's view — the angle every ferry and PATH rider knows, which is why it reads as a memory rather than a postcard.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The seafoam and pine greens sit well on warm white, oatmeal or a soft sage wall — the sage room in the photographs above shows how little contrast it needs. Pale oak picks up the driftwood pilings; black picks up the tower ironwork. The terracotta brick gives you a reason to add a clay pot or a rust cushion nearby.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? For a hallway or beside a bookcase, 12" x 18" or A3 is enough. Over a sofa or bed, go to 24" x 36" or A1 so the pilings keep their depth.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? Two lines only, in white at the top: HOBOKEN, with NEW JERSEY beneath it. No other text.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
