A Hilton Head Island poster looking up the marina channel from a stone jetty: the red-and-white banded Harbour Town lighthouse standing over the docks, white sportfishing boats and motor yachts moored along both quays, palmetto and live oak crowding the far bank, and a long red streak of the tower reflected down the middle of the water.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges, built up in layered tones rather than gradients. The colour runs on three families: a teal sky with cream cumulus stacked at the right, deep petrol blue and turquoise in the harbour water, and a strong signal red on the lighthouse bands, the roof tiles and the small flags at the gallery rail. Boat hulls are cut in white with pale grey shadow, the trees in three greens from olive to a dark bottle tone, and the lawn in a flat spring green. Fine white ripple lines break the water surface. The type sits in the sky in white sans-serif capitals: HILTON HEAD above a smaller, wider-tracked SOUTH CAROLINA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The island's most recognised silhouette — the banded tower reads instantly to anyone who has walked the harbour.
- Boats, not just beach — the marina detail gives it more to look at than a plain shoreline print.
- One clean accent colour — red appears only on the tower, roofs and flags, so it lands hard against all that blue.
- Reflection as anchor — the red stripe running down the water holds the bottom half of the composition.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Petrol blue and signal red want a plain background — white, pale grey or a soft sand wall lets both do their work. It suits a living room, a den or a coastal hallway more than a dark study. White and natural oak frames keep it nautical; the walnut frame in the dining-corner photograph above warms the greens without dulling the red.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? There is a lot of small boat and dock detail, so go up rather than down: 24 x 36 inches above a sofa keeps the rigging and railings legible. At 12 x 18 the lighthouse still reads, but the marina softens.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and rolled. Framed canvas ships stretched and framed in white, black, espresso or natural wood, with hanging hardware fitted.
What does the poster say? Two lines across the sky: HILTON HEAD in large white capitals with SOUTH CAROLINA set smaller below it. The lighthouse and marina are not named on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
