A peace kanji print for a bedroom or a home office where you want the wall to lower the volume. Two large black characters, 平和, fill the cream sheet, with HEIWA and peace set beneath them. One word, said plainly, with a red seal in the corner to sign it off.
About the artwork
Black on cream, with red used only for the seals. The two characters 平和 take up most of the sheet, set large and solid so they read from across a room. Below them, the romanized HEIWA and the English peace spell out the reading and the meaning. At the lower right sit a red seal and a smaller round seal. Nothing else is drawn, so the layout stays centered and uncluttered. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- The meaning is printed on it. HEIWA and peace sit right under the kanji, so nobody has to ask what the characters say.
- Reads from across the room. The two characters are large and solid black, clear from a desk chair or from the bed.
- A single accent color. The red seals are the only color on the sheet, easy to repeat with one red object nearby.
- Fits a desk wall or a bedroom. The plain cream ground suits a work wall where you want focus as much as a bedroom where you want rest.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
In a bedroom, hang it at 24" x 36" above a low platform bed with white or pale gray walls and linen bedding. In a home office, keep it at 18" x 24" at eye level above the desk on a soft sage or white wall, so it stays readable without taking over. A black floating frame repeats the ink; natural wood softens it. Pair it with a plain gray landscape print to keep the wall quiet.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What does 平和 mean? 平和 is read heiwa and means peace. Both the reading and the meaning are printed under the characters.
What size works above a desk? 18" x 24" suits most desk walls and stays readable from your chair. If the desk is wide or the wall is empty, 24" x 36" fills it better.
Is the peace kanji print suitable for a bedroom? Yes. The cream ground and black characters are calm, and the red seals are small, so it stays restful above a bed.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
