A Cambridge Massachusetts travel poster of the old college yard in early autumn: a red brick corner tower with ivy climbing two storeys up it, three tall brick chimneys behind, a white steeple with a weathervane rising past the rooftops, and paved walkways cutting diagonally across clipped lawn panels under maples in full gold.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges and layered tones, closer to a screen print than an illustration. The palette is built on two contrasts: a flat teal sky against warm brick, and deep shadow green against saturated amber and gold in the leaves. Brick reds shift from rust to a lighter terracotta on the sunlit faces, window frames and the steeple are picked out in cream, and the ivy runs through three separate greens. Long tree shadows fall in cool blue-grey across the pale flagstone paths. The type is set in the sky in white sans-serif capitals: CAMBRIDGE above a smaller, wider-tracked MASSACHUSETTS. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- New England autumn, not a generic fall scene — brick, ivy and a steeple date the architecture precisely.
- Warm without being loud — gold and rust are held in check by the cool teal sky and blue shadows.
- Depth from the paths — the diagonal flagstones pull the eye from the foreground straight back to the tower.
- A city print, not a school crest — it names Cambridge, so it reads as a place you know rather than a souvenir.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The gold and brick carry a room on their own, so give them a calm background — cream, warm white or a soft clay wall. Against the terracotta wall in the photographs above the reds tie together and the teal sky does the lifting. A natural oak or walnut frame extends the warmth; black frames sharpen it for a study or home office.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Over a desk or a console, 18 x 27 inches sits well. For a main wall above a sofa or bed, 24 x 36 inches lets the tree canopy and the paving read from across the room.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and rolled. Framed canvas ships stretched and framed in white, black, espresso or natural wood, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? Only two lines, both in the sky: CAMBRIDGE in large white capitals and MASSACHUSETTS beneath it. No school name, crest or emblem appears anywhere on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
