A Hagia Sophia travel poster seen across the park: the great ribbed dome and its cascade of half-domes in rose-red stone, four white minarets standing clear of the roofline, and the Bosphorus running blue and glittering behind it all.
About the artwork
Three horizontal zones, each with its own treatment. The bottom third is park — palms, cypress and lawn drawn in five or six separate greens with real leaf detail, the busiest passage in the print. The middle is the building, and here the drawing tightens: the buttresses, the arcaded windows, the smaller domes of the outbuildings and the balconies on each minaret are all individually resolved in terracotta and warm grey. The top is water and haze, the Asian shore reduced to a pale blue-grey silhouette. Warm stone against cool water, with the green belt holding them apart. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Turkey beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Rose stone against blue water. An unusual colour pairing that photographs badly and illustrates beautifully.
- Green does the framing. The park in the foreground keeps the building from floating on the page.
- Skyline and landmark together. You get the Bosphorus as well as the monument.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The terracotta and green combination is warm and quite saturated, so it wants a calm wall — white, bone or the palest sage. It holds up well in a dining room or a study, and pairs with brass and dark wood better than with chrome. Against a walnut sideboard the stone tones come forward; in a white frame the greens read fresher. Give it 16" x 24" or larger so the minaret detail survives.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view from? From the park side, looking across the gardens to the building with the water behind it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
