This Guanajuato Mexico travel poster looks down a steep cobbled lane that runs between an apricot wall and a blue-grey one, past wrought-iron balconies and sprays of magenta bougainvillea. Beyond the railing the valley fills with candy-coloured houses stacked ridge upon ridge, church domes and a bell tower rising among the rooftops, and a dry ochre mountain closes the view under a clear sky.
About the artwork
The drawing is flat vector work with a fine grain wash over it: no outlines, only blocks of colour separated by light and shadow. The palette runs coral, apricot and mustard through the foreground walls, then breaks into pink, turquoise, lime and terracotta across the hillside, with slate-grey domes and a pale blue sky above. The steep alley funnels the eye from the paving stones in the lower third up to the ridge line. The printed lettering reads GUANAJUATO above MEXICO in white across the top. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- A city built on a slope — hundreds of small houses climb the hillside in tiers, so the picture rewards a close look as well as a glance.
- Street-level viewpoint — cobblestones, iron balconies, a lamp bracket and bougainvillea put you in the lane rather than above the town.
- Warm, saturated colour — coral and mustard in front, pink and turquoise behind, held together by the ochre mountain at the top.
- Reads from across the room — the shapes are large and flat, so the composition stays clear at small sizes and holds a big wall too.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The coral, apricot and mustard in this print sit easily against warm white, clay or a soft terracotta wall, and the turquoise and lime rooftops keep it from feeling one-note. Light oak suits the sunlit side of the lane, while a black frame sharpens the wrought-iron balconies and the dark paving. It works above a cream sofa with a burnt-orange cushion, or leaning on a shelf in a dining corner where the warm tones pick up oak furniture. In a bedroom, pair it with linen in oatmeal or dusty pink.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What are the domes in the middle of the picture? They are church domes and a bell tower standing among the rooftops. The artwork does not name a single building, so it reads as the city as a whole rather than one monument.
What size should I get? Above a sofa or bed, 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" holds the wall. For a desk, shelf or gallery grouping, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" are the easiest to place.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas arrive unframed. The framed canvas option adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
