A French Quarter New Orleans poster taken from the corner of a block just after rain. A long row of coral and red townhouses runs into a hazy distance, each floor wrapped in cast-iron galleries. Ferns spill out of hanging baskets, a gas lantern hangs under the balcony, and the flagstone sidewalk holds a full reflection of the buildings above.
About the artwork
Hard-edged shapes with fine screen-print texture, especially in the sky and the lit walls. The palette runs warm on the left and cool on the right: vermilion, brick red and deep coral against dark teal shutters and near-black ironwork, with a pale butter-yellow mist filling the far end of the street and blue-grey stone underfoot. Low sun rakes across the facade, so the balcony ironwork drops a lace-patterned shadow onto the wall behind it. Typography sits across the sky in thin white capitals: NEW ORLEANS, with LOUISIANA smaller underneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The ironwork is the subject — balcony filigree is drawn in detail and then repeated as shadow across the coral wall.
- Warm and cool in one frame — red facade on the left, blue-grey wet stone on the right, meeting at the vanishing point.
- Rain, not sunshine — the mirrored sidewalk carries half the colour in the print.
- A street, not a postcard — no crowd, no landmark, just the block as it actually looks at dawn.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The coral and brick reds echo a terracotta or clay-painted wall, as in the walnut sideboard shot above, and they also lift a plain cream room. Walnut and espresso frames follow the warm side of the palette; black picks up the ironwork instead. Strong choice for a dining room or an entryway, where the deep perspective gives a narrow wall some distance.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The balcony detail rewards size: 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" above furniture. For a stair wall or a gallery arrangement, 12" x 18" and 16" x 24" work well.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame, wired and ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed text is NEW ORLEANS with LOUISIANA beneath it. The neighbourhood name is not printed on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

- Reads slightly softer than canvas.

Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
