An El Paso Texas travel poster shot from high on the Franklin Mountains, looking down a rust-coloured ridge with the great white star standing on its crest. Below and to the left the city spreads flat across the valley floor, a small cluster of downtown towers catching the light, and range after range of blue desert mountains fades out toward the horizon.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration with hard-edged shapes, but the foreground is worked in fine hatched strokes so the desert grass and yucca clumps read as real texture. The palette is warm rock against cold distance: burnt orange, ochre and rust on the sunlit slope, deep charcoal-blue in the shadowed flank, dusty grey-blue on the far ranges, and a clean gradient sky from mid-blue down to pale haze. The star is plain cream, unlit, sitting on a small steel stand. Type sits at the top in white capitals: EL PASO above TEXAS. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The star, from up close — most images show it lit from the freeway at night; this one puts you on the ridge beside it in daylight.
- Desert texture that rewards a look — hatched grasses, scattered rock and yucca fill the whole lower third.
- Warm and cool in one frame — rust foreground, blue distance, no muddy middle.
- For borderland people — hikers on the Franklins, Fort Bliss families, anyone who navigates home by that star.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is the warmest print in the series and it belongs on a warm wall — the terracotta room in the photographs above is almost the same family as the slope. Cream, clay and oatmeal walls work just as well. Natural oak or espresso frames pick up the ochre; avoid cool grey mounts, which fight the rust. Good in a living room with leather, jute or wool.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The hatched foreground is the best part of this one, so go large where you can — 24" x 36" or 30" x 40". At 12" x 18" the texture starts to close up.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. The framed canvas option arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? Two lines of white capitals in the upper sky: EL PASO, then TEXAS. No other lettering appears on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
