A Dublin travel poster looking down over the old university quarter: grey granite ranges with steep slate roofs enclosing two green lawns, a domed campanile standing clear on the right, and the Georgian city stretching away flat to the horizon behind.
About the artwork
An architectural drawing more than a landscape one. The whole print is built in cool greys — slate, granite, lead — with the lawns supplying the only strong colour, and the restraint is what makes it feel like Dublin rather than any handsome stone city. Every window, chimney stack, dormer and roof ridge is drawn separately, and the slate is given a fine horizontal grain so large roof planes stay interesting. A single mature tree in the left foreground breaks the geometry, its shadow cutting a soft shape across the lawn where every other shadow is straight. Above it all the sky is pale cream with low cloud, dropping the contrast at the top of the frame. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Ireland beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Grey done properly. Six or seven stone tones instead of one flat colour, which is why it does not read as drab.
- Green where it counts. The lawns carry the eye through a mostly monochrome image.
- For people who lived there. The specific rooflines mean more to a graduate than another bridge-over-the-Liffey print.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Essentially a neutral, which makes it the easiest print in the batch to hang — it will not fight anything already on the wall. It suits a study, a library corner or a hallway, and takes a black or dark walnut frame better than a pale one, since the frame supplies the contrast the image deliberately withholds. It is also the safest graduation or leaving gift in the series.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view from? Looking down over the university squares from above, with the city rooftops behind.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
