A Devils Tower illustrated print seen from the pine slope below the monument, not from the open prairie. Tall ponderosa trunks stand at both edges of the sheet, dark conifer forest fills the middle ground, and the fluted stone tower rises straight out of it with a bank of white cumulus stacked behind. A field of pale boulders sits along the bottom edge.
About the artwork
The columns are drawn one by one, each with its own light and shadow side, which is why the rock reads as a bundle of shafts rather than a single cliff. Colour on the tower runs from warm sandstone and buff on the sunlit face into cool grey-green in the shade. The forest below is layered in five or six greens, from almost black to a bright new-growth tone where sun reaches a clearing, and the pine trunks in front carry rust and umber bark texture. Sky is a strong cobalt at the top edge, paling behind the cloud tower. The name is set at the bottom: DEVILS TOWER in bold white caps with WYOMING spaced beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Seen from inside the forest. The framing trunks put you on the trail rather than at a roadside pullout.
- Column detail that holds up. The vertical fluting is drawn individually, so it stays sharp even at 30 inches.
- Green-heavy palette. A landscape print that brings in forest tones instead of the usual desert orange.
- Big sky drama. The cumulus bank gives the tower something to stand against.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Deep pine green and cobalt want a light wall to push against, so warm white, bone or pale sage all work. It suits the room with the cream armchair and the big leafy plant in the photographs above, where the greens answer each other. In a dark or panelled study, a natural oak frame keeps it from disappearing into the wall.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? 16" x 24" suits a bedroom or office wall. Above a sofa, 24" x 36" gives the forest layers room to separate.
Does it come framed? Paper ships rolled and unframed. Matte canvas arrives stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? DEVILS TOWER along the bottom, with WYOMING in spaced capitals underneath.
Is there another Devils Tower design in this shop? Yes. The second one is a flat vector poster: pared-back shapes, solid colour fields, no shading, the tower seen across open meadow, and the name printed at the top. This painted version is the forest view, with individually rendered columns, deep tonal greens and the lettering at the bottom.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
