A Cortona travel poster looking down from the olive terraces above the town: stone houses with terracotta roofs packed onto a wooded spur, a square bell tower rising out of the middle of them, and the broad patchwork plain running away to a hazy blue horizon.
About the artwork
The picture is arranged as a descent. In the foreground a dry stone terrace and pale rock slabs sit under silvery olive trees, each one drawn with a gnarled dark trunk and a cloud of grey-green leaves. A dark canopy of older trees closes the top left corner and frames the view. Below that a farmhouse with a terracotta roof stands between the olives and a vineyard whose rows run in tight parallel lines across the slope. The town itself is the middle band, dozens of ochre and stone facades under orange pantiles, stepped along the ridge with a plain square tower near its centre. Behind everything the Val di Chiana opens out as a quilt of green and gold fields, softening into blue at the horizon where a single tall cumulus stands. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Italy beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Olive trees in the foreground. Silver-green leaves and twisted trunks drawn tree by tree, not suggested.
- Real depth. Terrace, vineyard, town and plain sit in four clear planes.
- Green with terracotta. The roofs give a warm accent against a print that is otherwise all field and leaf.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The olive and field greens make this a kitchen, dining room or study print, and it holds up on white, oatmeal, olive or clay walls. It sits well with oak and walnut, woven baskets, terracotta and simple glassware. Natural or espresso frames follow the trees; a white frame keeps the plain looking open. Hang it beside the other Tuscan and hill-town prints for a wall that reads as one region.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What are the trees in the foreground? Olive trees on a terraced slope above the town, with a vineyard on the neighbouring hillside just below them.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
