A Colorado Springs travel poster looking east across the red rock: tall sandstone fins and spires stand in the near ground, weathered into knife edges and rounded shoulders, junipers and pinyon scattered between them, the city spread out flat on the plain beyond, and a long snow-covered range closing the horizon under a clear sky.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration with hard-edged shapes and shading laid in as stacked bands rather than gradients, which gives the rock its carved look. The colour runs hot to cold from bottom to top: vermilion, rust and burnt orange on the sandstone, deep sage and blue-green on the scrub trees, then a dusty violet-blue plain, a dark slate ridge, snow in cream and pale gold on the high peaks, and a flat steel blue sky. Long shadows fall right to left across the rock. Type at the top reads COLORADO SPRINGS with COLORADO beneath in lighter capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Red rock, not skyline — the sandstone fins take the foreground and the city is deliberately small behind them.
- Snow and sandstone in one frame — the peaks above the plain give the print two climates at once.
- Carved shading — stepped tonal bands make every fin and ledge read as separate rock.
- Rich without being loud — rust and sage sit together comfortably at any size.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is a warm, saturated print, so it wants a quiet wall. Cream, sand or soft white lets the rust reds do the work, and against the terracotta wall in the photographs above the whole thing glows. A natural or espresso frame suits the sandstone; leather, jute and unglazed pottery finish the look in a living room.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The rock detail deserves scale — 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" over a sofa. In a hallway, 16" x 24" keeps the fins and the snow line clear.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and rolled. Matte canvas arrives stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? COLORADO SPRINGS across the top with COLORADO in smaller capitals below, set over the snowy range.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
