A Chattanooga Tennessee travel poster taken from the bluff above the river. Pale sandstone ledges and boulders fill the left side and the whole foreground, oak leaves hang into the top corner, and beyond the drop the Tennessee River swings through a wide blue S-bend between wooded ridges before the city flattens out toward a hazy horizon.
About the artwork
Hard-edged shapes with layered flat tones and a strong high vantage point. The palette runs cream and buff sandstone with cool grey shadow in the cliff joints, three or four separate greens from near-black forest to bright summer canopy, cobalt and steel blue in the river, and a pale washed blue-grey for the far valley that reads as summer haze. Small details carry the distance: bridges over the river, rooftops and low blocks in the valley floor, boulders scattered on the slope below the rim, a pine shrub at the lower right. White cumulus sits along the skyline. The type reads CHATTANOOGA above TENNESSEE in white capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Real height — the cliff edge in the foreground makes the drop to the river feel earned.
- Green in layers — several distinct greens rather than one flat wash of trees.
- City and wilderness together — rooftops and river bends share the same frame.
- Lookout Mountain view — the overlook people drive up for, drawn from the rock itself.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The greens and the warm sandstone make this an easy fit in a room with natural wood. The sage green wall in the photographs above almost continues the print, and the beige console setting suits the buff rock. On white it looks cleaner and the river blue jumps forward. Oak or natural frames flatter it more than black.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? There is a lot of small valley detail, so 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" lets the bridges and rooftops stay visible. At 12" x 18" the far distance reads as texture.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship rolled and unframed. Matte canvas arrives stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? The printed text is CHATTANOOGA with TENNESSEE beneath it, in white capitals across the upper sky.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
