A Chapel Bridge travel poster from the water's edge: the octagonal stone water tower standing mid-river with its red tiled cap, the covered wooden bridge running away from it on its piles, geraniums along the whole rail, and a snow-covered peak closing the view behind the town.
About the artwork
Teal is the organising colour — sky, lake and distant mountain all sit in the same cool family, and everything warm in the image is small: the terracotta shingles on the bridge roof, the red-brown cap of the tower, and the flowers. The water takes up the lower half and is worked two ways at once: drawn star glints in dense clusters where the sun hits, and pale visible stones through the shallows at the near edge, which is what gives the print depth rather than a flat blue field. The bridge itself is drawn beam by beam, with the roof shingles, the piles under it and the planted boxes along its side all separated. A border of red, white and violet flowers frames the bottom corners. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Switzerland beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The oldest covered bridge in Europe, drawn in detail. Timber, shingles and flowers all present.
- Glitter and clarity in the same water. Sun on the surface, stones underneath.
- Cool teal, warm accents. A restrained palette with just enough red to lift it.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The teal dominance makes it a calm print despite the detail, so it sits easily in a living room or bedroom on white, cream or soft green walls. Natural oak picks up the timber; black frames sharpen the tower. It pairs well with the Lauterbrunnen print for a Swiss pair — one town, one valley, same cool palette. Buy 16" x 24" or larger so the bridge planking stays legible.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Where is the view from? From the riverbank beside the bridge, looking across at the water tower with the mountains behind the town.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
