A Chamonix travel poster from the valley floor in summer: a wildflower meadow and scattered boulders in the near ground, a tight cluster of dark timber chalets on the slope above, and behind them a glacier tongue spilling between rock ridges toward the snowfields of the Mont Blanc massif.
About the artwork
This is the bright, high-summer version of Chamonix — the second Chamonix artwork in the collection, and a very different picture from the autumn valley scene. The sky is an open cobalt blue with soft cumulus piling over the summit ridge, the meadow is a saturated emerald flecked with white and rust-red alpine flowers, and the massif is rendered in cold blue-white with the glacier drawn as a broken, fissured ribbon rather than a smooth field. A dark buttress of scree-covered rock closes the right-hand edge and pushes the eye back into the valley. The illustration style is dense and semi-realistic, with fine texture across the rock and forest. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with France beneath, held inside a thin white margin. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Summer, not winter. Most alpine prints sell snow. This one keeps the green meadow in the frame, so it works in a room that is not trying to look like a ski lodge.
- The hamlet gives it scale. The chalets are deliberately tiny — that is what makes the glacier above them read as vast.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The blue and green here are strong enough to carry a plain wall on their own, which makes this an easier hang than most mountain prints — it does not need a timber room to make sense. Against white or pale grey the cobalt sky does the work; against a warm clay or terracotta wall the meadow green turns unexpectedly rich. A slim black frame keeps it graphic; natural oak softens it. Wants a bit of scale: at 24" x 36" and up the individual chalets and the fissures in the ice stay legible.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
How is this different from the other Chamonix print? It is a separate artwork. This one is a summer view across a flowering meadow to a chalet hamlet and the glacier; the other is a cooler autumn scene with a stream and a church steeple in the foreground.
What size should I get? 24" x 36" or larger holds the detail. Below 16" x 24" the hamlet and the glacier bands start to merge.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
