A Cefalu travel poster from the far end of the beach late in the day: a long apricot curve of sand and one line of foam, the old town standing straight out of the water, twin cathedral towers above the roofs, and a great grey crag behind it all.
About the artwork
Warm, low-lit, and composed as a curve. Sand sweeps in from the bottom-right corner in flat bands of apricot, salmon and rust, stippled with hundreds of small footprints, and meets a single ribbon of white foam that follows the bay round to the town. The water is the coolest thing here — dusty slate blue broken into short horizontal dashes, with terracotta from the roofs bleeding down into it as reflection. The town is a dense mass of ochre and rose-brown facades with weathered green shutters, pantiles at every angle, and one dark arched opening at the waterline. Above the roofs the cathedral rises: two square towers with paired windows and a brick-red face catching the last light. Behind everything sits the crag, grey and mauve with sunlit ochre faces. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Italy beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Evening colour. Apricot sand and brick-red stone against a cool slate sea, warm and cool held in balance.
- Two towers on the skyline. The cathedral is the fixed point everything else is measured against.
- Footprints in the sand. The sort of detail you only find by standing in front of the print.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The warmest print in this Italian group, and it wants a warm room: a dining wall, or a kitchen with evening light. Clay pink, soft plaster and oatmeal walls follow the roof tiles, and it sits well with travertine, rattan, dark stained wood and unlacquered brass. An espresso frame carries the terracotta; a white frame keeps the sand light. It pairs naturally with another Sicilian coast print.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What is the rock behind the town? The limestone crag that rises immediately behind the old town. The view is drawn from the beach, so the houses sit between you and it.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
