A St Augustine Florida travel poster looking along the shoreline to Castillo de San Marcos. The fort's coquina walls and corner bastion sit hard against the water in warm late light, a small sentry tower breaks the roofline, and clear turquoise shallows run out from a rocky, grass-tufted bank in the foreground.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration with stippled stone texture and layered water banding. The palette is honey and cream in the coquina masonry, deep bronze and umber in the wall shadows, turquoise through teal in the bay, and olive-gold in the shore grass. The sky is a soft cream-to-pale-blue gradient with no clouds. Gun embrasures, small square openings and the stepped bastion edge are all drawn on the wall; the shallows near the bank are made translucent so the sand ripples show through. A low tree line with small red-roofed buildings marks the far shore. Type is a white sans serif reading ST. AUGUSTINE over FLORIDA. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The fort from the water — not the parade ground or the drawbridge, but the seaward wall the way you see it from the seawall walk.
- Coquina colour — the shellstone reads as honey and cream, which is what makes the oldest masonry fort in the country look like nowhere else.
- Clear-water foreground — the shallows are painted see-through, with rocks and sand visible under the surface.
- Warm and quiet — no crowds, no boats, just stone, grass and water.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Honey stone and turquoise water is a Mediterranean-leaning palette in spite of the Florida subject. It looks at home on the terracotta wall in the photographs above, and on cream, sand or a warm putty in a dining room or sunroom. Rattan, travertine and unfinished oak all sit well beside it. A natural or white frame keeps the light quality; black flattens it.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The fort sits in the top right corner, so scale keeps it from getting lost. 20" x 30" or 24" x 36" is the useful range for a main wall; 16" x 24" for a hallway.
Does it come framed? Paper arrives rolled and unframed. Matte canvas is stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? The printed type reads ST. AUGUSTINE with FLORIDA beneath it. Castillo de San Marcos is not named on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.

Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
