A Cassis travel poster seen from the water's edge: varnished wooden fishing boats riding at their moorings, a quay of apricot and cream houses under red awnings, and the enormous white limestone cliff closing off the far end of the bay.
About the artwork
The picture is built on one huge shape. The cliff is drawn in flat planes of bone white, warm ivory and cool lilac-grey so the rock reads as faceted rather than smooth, with dark pine scrub caught in the gullies. Against that mass the town is deliberately small: two rows of houses in apricot, butter, salmon and pale green, each with its own shutter colour, a run of red and white awnings along the quay, and market parasols no bigger than a fingernail. The boats do the close-up work — half a dozen hulls in white and navy with varnished mahogany trim and bare masts, their reflections broken into short horizontal dashes. Water shifts from clear jade over the pale rock shelf in the corner to a deep teal channel, and umbrella pines lean in from the right edge. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with France beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The cliff does the heavy lifting. One pale mass against a small warm town, which is what carries the image across a room.
- Boats you can read up close. Masts, mooring lines and varnished trim, drawn hull by hull.
- Jade to teal water. Five blues rather than one, so the bay has real depth.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Bright and salt-washed rather than sunny, so it suits a kitchen or a breakfast room. Chalk white and pale grey walls let the limestone stay the brightest thing on the wall, and it sits easily with light oak, linen and glazed ceramic. A natural oak frame picks up the varnish on the hulls; black sharpens the cliff edge if the room is already warm. It hangs well beside the Menton or Gordes prints as a Provence set.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What are the boats in the foreground? Traditional Mediterranean fishing boats with wooden hulls and a raised bow, drawn as they lie tied along the harbour wall.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
