A Camden Harbor Maine poster looking across still water at first light. Tall schooner masts and rigging crowd the right-hand edge, a smaller cluster of sloops sits at anchor on the left, the white clapboard village runs along the shore in between, and the wooded shoulder of the hill behind town closes off the sky.
About the artwork
Built from flat, hard-edged shapes with a screen-printed feel, including a stippled grain in the upper sky. The palette is deliberately narrow and almost monochrome: cobalt, teal and deep navy for the water, a paler sky blue above, dark blue-green for the hillside, and one band of warm cream on the horizon that is the only heat in the whole sheet. Rigging is drawn as hairline strokes, and the bottom half is given over to choppy water where every mast breaks into a long vertical reflection. Small white hulls and gabled roofs mark the waterfront. The type reads CAMDEN HARBOR above MAINE in white capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- One colour, many values — an almost entirely blue print that still reads with full depth.
- Rigging as line work — the hairline masts and stays give it a delicacy most harbour prints lack.
- Half the sheet is water — the broken reflections carry the lower composition on their own.
- Windjammer country — for anyone who has sailed out of Penobscot Bay or spent a week in midcoast Maine.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
All that blue is easy to place. On white or pale grey it reads crisp and coastal, and the plain white wall in the first photograph above shows it at its cleanest. The sage green room also works, since blue-green and blue sit close together. Avoid crowding it with other strong colours; a light oak frame keeps it soft, a black frame makes the rigging sharper.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The fine rigging lines hold up better large, so 24" x 36" and above is the safer choice over furniture. At 8" x 12" the masts start to read as texture rather than line.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship rolled and unframed. Matte canvas arrives stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? The printed text is CAMDEN HARBOR with MAINE beneath it, in white capitals across the top of the sky.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
