A Buffalo New York travel poster seen from the air, with the Art Deco City Hall tower at the centre: a stepped limestone shaft, setbacks carrying carved buttresses, and a banded crown of red, blue and gold ornament under a domed cap. Below it a paved square curves around a tall stone monument, ringed with parked cars, and low brick rooftops run to the lake horizon.
About the artwork
Flat vector illustration, hard-edged, with the tower's window bays drawn as repeating rectangles and the Deco frieze reduced to small blocks of colour. The palette is sun-warmed sandstone — buff, wheat and pale ochre across the facades — with brick red and rust rooftops, muted teal and slate in the shadows, a hazy blue-grey sky, and small hits of orange, red and yellow from the cars on the square. Long late-day shadows fall left to right. Type at the top reads BUFFALO with NEW YORK beneath it in lighter capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- One of America's great Deco towers — the ornamented crown and stepped setbacks are the whole subject, drawn in full.
- An aerial, not a street view — you look down on the square, the roofs and the traffic circling the monument.
- Warm limestone palette — buff and rust rather than the usual glass-and-steel blue.
- Depth to the water — the city fades block by block until the lake edge closes the horizon.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Buff limestone and rust rooftops sit naturally against beige, clay or muted olive walls. In the photographs above it works particularly well over the oak console, where the sandstone tones and the wood share the same warmth. A black frame sharpens the Deco geometry; brass, leather and dark timber finish it off in a study.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The rooftop detail and the cars on the square hold up best at 20" x 30" and larger. For a hallway or gallery wall, 12" x 18" still reads clearly.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and rolled. Matte canvas arrives stretched and ready to hang. Framed canvas comes in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? BUFFALO across the top with NEW YORK in smaller capitals below. The print shows Buffalo itself, not New York City.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
