A Bonneville Salt Flats poster standing on the crust itself and looking west. Cracked salt polygons fill the bottom three quarters of the frame and shrink into the distance, a thin wet band at the horizon throws the sun back as a column of white light, and the Silver Island range sits behind it as a flat blue silhouette under an empty sky.
About the artwork
This one is close to a duotone screen print. Almost the entire image is built from blues and cream, with the salt polygons drawn as thousands of small crystalline facets rather than shaded smoothly, so the crust reads as texture from across a room and as line work up close. The sky grades from deep steel blue at the top to pale ice near the horizon, the mountains are stacked in two or three flat blues, and the pan runs from bone white and warm cream in the glare to soft periwinkle in the shadowed cracks. A small white sun with a cross flare sits just under the title, which reads BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS with UTAH beneath. Faint small text appears in the lower margin. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Texture is the subject — the cracked hexagons carry the whole print, which is unusual for a landscape poster.
- Nearly monochrome — blue and cream only, so it works in rooms where a full-colour travel print would clash.
- Real sense of distance — the polygon scale shrinks steadily to the horizon and does the perspective work without a road or figure.
- Cold light — low sun, wet reflective band, no warm tones at all; it feels like the flats early in the day.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Blue and cream with no competing colour makes this the easiest print here to place. It is very clean on white and pale grey walls, and it cools down a warm room, which is worth seeing against the terracotta wall in the photographs above. Black framing sharpens the graphic edge for a desk or study wall; a white frame keeps it airy.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The salt texture is the reason to go large. 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" shows the individual facets; at 12" x 18" the crust starts to read as a single grey field.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed. Canvas is available stretched, or in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS across the top with UTAH below it, plus small faint text in the bottom margin of the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
