A ramen cat print for the kitchen, where the noodles actually happen. A black cat with round yellow eyes slurps ramen from a white bowl, with a pair of orange chopsticks, against a mustard yellow background. A tall orange banner stands on the left. It is a small joke about how everyone eats noodles: with full attention.
About the artwork
Mustard yellow, orange, black and white make up the whole palette. The cat is a solid black shape with two round yellow eyes, bent over a white bowl with orange chopsticks, and the noodles tie cat and bowl together. A tall orange banner block fills the left side and balances the dark mass of the cat. The whole design is done in the style of a retro screen print, with flat, bold color. Portrait.
Why you'll love it
- A cat mid-slurp. The moment of eating is what makes it funny, not just a cat sitting next to a bowl.
- Mustard and orange warm up a kitchen. The yellow ground and orange accents look good next to wood, tile and copper pans.
- Those yellow eyes. Two round yellow eyes in a black face give the cat its expression from across the room.
- Screen-print style. Flat retro color gives it the look of a poster from a noodle bar.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it in the kitchen near where the bowls live, or over a small breakfast table. Mustard yellow sits well against white subway tile, sage green cabinets or a black-painted wall. At 12" x 18" it fits the gap between cabinets and a window; 18" x 24" suits an open wall. Pair it with a simple still life of chopsticks or a steaming bowl in a matching orange.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Which size fits a kitchen? Kitchens rarely have large open walls, so 12" x 18" or 16" x 24" is usually right. Go 18" x 24" for a wider stretch of wall.
Will the yellow background suit my cabinets? Mustard yellow sits well with white, cream, sage and navy cabinets. With yellow or orange cabinets, a black or espresso frame helps separate them.
Is this a good gift for a ramen fan? It is an easy gift for anyone who loves cats, noodles or both. Framed versions come in a white, black, espresso or natural solid wood floating frame.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
