A Biltmore Estate Asheville poster looking straight up the front lawn to the limestone chateau, with its steep slate roofs and spires spread across the frame, a circular fountain playing at the centre of the mown grass, a stone balustrade and flagstone terrace in the foreground, and four ranks of blue mountain ridges stacked behind the roofline.
About the artwork
Flat vector shapes with hard edges and quiet gradient work in the distance, composed on a strict central axis. The colour moves through three bands: warm sand and buff limestone in the house, a deep grass green striped by mower lines on the lawn, and a receding stack of blue-greys in the mountains, from slate at the near ridge to pale powder blue at the horizon, under a sky that fades from clear blue to cream near the peaks. Details to look for: pointed dormer gables and clustered chimney stacks, the glass-roofed conservatory wing on the right, the arched main doorway, clipped conical trees flanking the lawn, and the small plume of the fountain jet. The printed type reads ASHEVILLE above NORTH CAROLINA in white capitals. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Symmetry that hangs easily — house, fountain and lawn all sit on one centre line.
- Depth without clutter — four ridge lines fading back behind the roof do all the atmosphere.
- Architecture in detail — gables, spires and the conservatory glass are drawn, not suggested.
- Calm colour — sand, green and blue-grey, nothing loud anywhere in the frame.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is the easiest print in the set to place: the sand and blue-grey read as neutrals. It looks composed on the sage green wall in the photographs above, and just as good on warm white, pale grey or a soft duck-egg. Oak, linen and a little brass suit it; heavy dark wood makes it feel formal in a good way. Hang it centred over a console, a mantel or a bed so the symmetry has room to work.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? The house sits in the middle distance, so bigger is better: 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" over a sofa or mantel. At 12" x 18" the roofline reads but the window detail closes up.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and rolled. Matte canvas comes stretched and ready to hang, and framed canvas adds a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
What does the poster say? The printed type is ASHEVILLE with NORTH CAROLINA beneath it. The estate name does not appear on the artwork.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
