A Belfast travel poster looking down on the City Hall: four verdigris cupolas set around one big green dome, pale Portland stone above the lawns of the square, and the long basalt back of Cave Hill closing the view behind the rooftops.
About the artwork
The drawing is built on a diagonal. The City Hall crosses the lower third at a three-quarter angle, so you read the full length of the front — columned portico, carved pediment, arched ground-floor windows, balustrade — and then the corner towers step back one behind another. Copper is the colour that carries it: the central dome and the four smaller cupolas have all oxidised to a soft green that repeats in the lamp standards and the trees. Below, the square is laid out in flat planes of grass with pale paths cut through it, clipped hedges and dozens of tiny walking figures. Behind the hall the city becomes a dense mat of terraces, chimneys, spires and a clock tower, cooled down so it reads as distance. Cave Hill rests along the top in two greens with its cliff edge and a slim mast on the summit. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Northern Ireland beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Five copper domes. Oxidised green against a pale turquoise sky, the colour pairing anyone who has crossed that square remembers.
- Cave Hill on the skyline. The flat-topped ridge gives the city a horizon no other Irish print has.
- Drawn at street scale. Benches, lamp posts and walking figures reward standing close.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cool turquoise and verdigris over warm brick, so it settles onto white, pale grey or soft blue-green walls without fighting them. Good in a hall or study, where people pass close enough to pick out the small figures. Natural oak keeps it warm; a black frame sharpens the stone and the sky. It hangs well beside the Dark Hedges print as a Northern Ireland pair, or with Edinburgh Castle if you are building a wall of British and Irish cities.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
Which building is in the centre? Belfast City Hall, seen from above the square, with the great dome and the four corner cupolas in oxidised copper.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
