An illustrated Adirondack Park New York poster taken from the end of a wooden dock. Two slat-backed Adirondack chairs face out over glassy water that mirrors the whole sky. Autumn maples in orange and scarlet crowd both shorelines, dark spruce rise behind them, and a low grey-blue ridge closes the far end of the lake. A small boathouse sits half-hidden in the trees on the left bank.
About the artwork
Painted in a detailed illustrative style, with soft modelling in the clouds and hand-drawn texture in the foliage rather than flat vector shapes. The palette is deep teal-blue sky, cream and white cumulus, spruce green, and a band of burnt orange, rust and gold in the hardwoods, with warm brown planking in the dock. The reflection is worked out fully, cloud for cloud and tree for tree, which is the detail that carries the piece. The title is printed across the bottom in white capitals, ADIRONDACK PARK above NEW YORK. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- The chairs make it personal. Two empty Adirondack chairs on a dock is the shorthand every Adirondack camp visitor recognises, and it gives the print a point of view rather than a postcard view.
- Peak-foliage colour without kitsch. The rust and gold are held in check by the spruce green and the cool water, so it stays calm on the wall year round.
- Six million acres in one frame. Adirondack Park is the largest protected area in the lower 48, bigger than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon and Glacier combined.
- Reads at distance and up close. The reflection holds together across a room, and the shoreline detail rewards standing near it.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4-A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The teal and rust pairing does well against warm white and putty walls, and it is a natural fit for rooms with pine, leather or wool. In the cream sofa setting shown above the orange maples pick up the ochre cushions directly. On a deeper green or navy wall the sky recedes and the foliage glows. A natural oak frame echoes the dock planking; espresso suits a study with dark shelving.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? 16" x 24" holds a hallway or bedside wall. Over a sofa or bed, choose 24" x 36" or 30" x 40" so the reflected clouds keep their scale. Smaller than 12" x 18" and the shoreline detail closes up.
Does it come framed? Paper and matte canvas ship unframed. Framed canvas arrives in a solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural, ready to hang.
What does the poster say? The printed lettering reads ADIRONDACK PARK with NEW YORK below it, in white capitals in the lower band. Nothing else is printed on the artwork.
Is this a specific lake? The scene is a composite Adirondack lake view rather than one named body of water, so it suits anyone with a connection to the park — Saranac, Blue Mountain, Raquette or a family camp on a smaller pond.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
