An Adare travel poster taken from the lane: a terrace of whitewashed cottages under deep golden thatch, a dry stone wall in the foreground, and banks of hot pink roses pushing up over the stone from both sides.
About the artwork
The drawing is unusually dense for a travel print. The thatch is the centre of it, rendered stroke by stroke in straw, honey and amber so you can follow the direction of every course and the thick rolled ridge along the top, with the eaves cut in a deep clean curve over each window. The cottage walls are chalk white with cool grey shadow, broken by cream chimney stacks, black window frames and small green window boxes; clipped box balls in planters mark the doorways along the path. Behind the roofline two big broadleaf trees rise into a pale blue sky, their canopies built from layered blobs of yellow-green and near-black. The foreground wall is the other star: grey limestone drawn block by block, mossy in the joints, and against it a mass of magenta and rose flowers with pale cream centres, painted loose and heavy. Warm gold, cool white, hot pink, and a single band of blue at the top. Title in wide-tracked uppercase with Ireland beneath. Portrait, 2:3.
Why you'll love it
- Thatch drawn properly. Course by course, not a flat brown shape, and it rewards a close look.
- Pink that carries. The rose banks give the print a colour most landscape art never risks.
- Soft green Irish light. No harsh contrast, which makes it easy to live with in a quiet room.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Nine sizes from 8" x 12" to 30" x 40", plus A4–A1 for European frames.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang.
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural.
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
This is a warm, domestic print rather than a dramatic one, so it belongs in bedrooms, hallways, a garden room or a country kitchen. It sits well on cream, clotted-white, pale sage and dusty pink walls, and beside painted furniture, linen, wicker and old pine. Natural oak or a soft white frame keeps the cottage feeling; black is too hard for it. Group it with other green-and-flower prints in the range for a wall that stays gentle rather than graphic.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? Above a console or desk, 12" x 18" or 16" x 24". Above a sofa, bed or mantel, go 24" x 36" or larger so the print holds the wall.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
What is the pink in the foreground? Flowering shrubs banked along the stone wall and under the cottage windows, painted in deep rose and magenta rather than any one botanical species.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
