An Acadia National Park WPA poster of Bass Harbor Head Light on rose-pink granite cliffs above breaking Atlantic surf, with spruce framing the right edge and cream clouds rolling in, set inside a cream border. The top line reads MAINE · 44.35°N, 68.21°W · ESTABLISHED 1919; below the picture, ACADIA NATIONAL PARK in rose-red slab lettering, with the National Park Service bison seal.
About the artwork
The picture reads from the bottom up: surf and dark rocks, then the pink cliffs, then the lighthouse and keeper’s house at the top center, with spruce boughs holding the right side. Warm late-afternoon light on the granite is what gives the scene its glow against the teal-navy sea. Acadia, the first national park east of the Mississippi, was pieced together from land donated by private citizens.
Why you'll love it
- New England classic. Spruce, sea blue and pink granite suit cottages, lake houses and coastal living rooms.
- A finished edge built in. The cream margin gives it a framed look even in a thin frame.
- Thirteen sizes. From a desk shelf up to a full feature wall.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, color-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Set it against white clapboard, navy stripes or weathered wood, and let the cream border sit on a pale wall. It pairs naturally with the full-bleed Acadia poster for a coast-and-cliff pair; natural oak suits both.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the color, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
What size should I get? 16" x 24" and up if it hangs alone; 12" x 18" works inside a gallery wall of several parks.
Does it come framed? Paper prints ship unframed and fit standard frames. Choose a framed canvas if you would rather skip the framing shop.
How is this different from your other Acadia prints? This is the cream-bordered WPA poster: Bass Harbor Head Light on pink granite cliffs, with the park’s coordinates across the top. The vintage travel poster is a separate full-bleed design with white lettering; the screen print, retro, mid-century, panoramic, oil, watercolor, illustrated and landmark Acadia prints are separate designs too.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
