This Zurich watercolor print looks down the Limmat River to the twin towers of the Grossmünster, with the green spire of the Fraumünster and the clock tower of St. Peter Church nearby. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Zurich, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Horizontal turquoise strokes broken by white paper form the river's reflections, and fine ink lines trace the twin towers and the old guild-house facades. Turquoise water and pale yellow sandstone lead the palette, with brown tile roofs, leafy greens and copper green on the Fraumünster spire. The Grossmünster stands right of center, the Fraumünster rises at left and St. Peter's clock tower sits in the middle, while the river runs diagonally from a distant stone bridge to the foreground. Old rooftops and trees fill the lower left, and wooded hills with scattered houses close the background. Blue-grey drips fall from the bottom edge, and fresh green trees point to early summer. "ZURICH" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Tram on the bridge. A blue-and-white tram crosses the stone bridge in the distance.
- Swans and tour boats. White swans, a small rowboat and two tour boats share the river.
- Lively riverbank. Walkers, cyclists and café awnings line the quay.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The turquoise and sandstone tones work in a home office, a hallway or a living room with light oak furniture. It is a fitting gift for a colleague relocating from Zurich or a friend who loves Swiss travel.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Zurich? No. This is an artistic, watercolor-style view of Zurich. The scene is painted from a raised angle over the river, and some details are simplified to keep the composition clear.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "ZURICH," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
