This Thessaloniki watercolor print shows the round White Tower of Thessaloniki flying the Greek flag beside the Nea Paralia promenade, with the Thermaic Gulf stretching out in blue. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of Thessaloniki, not an exact view of the city.
About the artwork
Fine ink lines trace the tower's stones and battlements and the balconies of the seafront apartment blocks, and the sea is washed in blue with streaks of white paper for light. Aegean blue, cream stone and olive green form the palette, with apricot early autumn leaves and the red roofs of the old town as accents. The tower stands left of center, cream apartment buildings line the waterfront toward the right, the Ano Poli Byzantine walls and red-roofed houses climb the hill, and a wide paved promenade runs diagonally into the lower right. Snowy blue-violet mountains sit in the far distance. Yellow-brown drips run from the left edge, with green and yellow splatter around the border. "THESSALONIKI" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Seafront promenade life. Cyclists and strollers pass under palms and lampposts.
- Sailboat on the gulf. A white sailboat drifts on the calm water.
- Angler on the quay. A man fishes with a rod from the seawall.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Its blues, creams and olive greens fit a Mediterranean-style living room, a dining area or a home office with natural textures. It is a warm gift for someone with Greek family ties or a couple who started their story in Thessaloniki.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Thessaloniki? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Thessaloniki, and some background elements, such as the distant mountains, are placed for the composition.
What text is printed on it? Only the city name, "THESSALONIKI," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
