This Taughannock Falls State Park watercolor print shows Taughannock Falls dropping in a single slender stream into a grey shale amphitheater in winter. It is an artistic, watercolor-style interpretation of the gorge, not an exact view.
About the artwork
Fine ink traces the thin horizontal shale layers, the bridge railing and the creek ledges. The falls and the ice cone are left as white paper with pale ice-blue shadows, and snow on the rocks is bare paper too. The palette is shale grey, snow white and pale ice blue, with dark pine green and a walker's red coat as accents. The falls drop in the center of the curved gorge, a stone-and-wood footbridge crosses Taughannock Creek in the middle distance, and the flat shale creek bed with shallow steps and snow fills the foreground. The view looks upstream from the end of the Gorge Trail. "TAUGHANNOCK FALLS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Ice cone base. A white cone of ice builds at the foot of the falls.
- Pointing child. A child on the bridge points up toward the falls.
- Quiet winter palette. Cool greys and whites make it calm and restful.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Cool grey, white and soft blue fit a minimalist bedroom, a bathroom or an office with black frames. It is a thoughtful gift for someone who has hiked the Gorge Trail or loves upstate New York winters.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Taughannock Falls State Park? No. It is a watercolor-style interpretation of Taughannock Falls in winter, not a literal view of the gorge.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "TAUGHANNOCK FALLS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
