This Port Aransas watercolor print shows the Horace Caldwell Pier running out into the Gulf, seen from the dunes south of it, with raised beach houses along the shore. It reads as a watercolor-and-ink interpretation of the Texas coast, not an exact scene.
About the artwork
Turquoise waves carry white foam left as bare paper, and the wet sand reflects the sky in violet and blue. Dry-brush strokes in brown and gold form the dune grass and sand fencing, while fine ink lines outline the pier's pilings and the stilted houses. The pier crosses the middle of the picture, the jetties and a light pole sit at the back left, and blue and yellow beach houses line the shore. Dunes with sea oats run diagonally across the foreground. The palette is sea blue, sand beige and moss green, with blue and yellow accents, in the soft sun of early summer. "PORT ARANSAS" is set in spaced navy capitals across the top.
Why you'll love it
- Dolphins in the surf. Two dolphins leap through the waves, a playful detail you notice on a second look.
- Pelicans at the water's edge. Brown pelicans and shorebirds stand in the shallow surf at the right.
- Truck on the beach. A pickup parked on the sand and a distant cargo ship add a lived-in Texas coast feel.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
The relaxed blues and sandy neutrals suit a lake house, a beach rental, a boy's bedroom or a family room. Give it to a Texan who spends weekends fishing on the coast, or to friends who just bought a place by the Gulf.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Is this an exact view of Port Aransas? No. It is an artistic interpretation of Port Aransas. A few details on and around the pier are simplified or rearranged.
What text is printed on it? Only the name "PORT ARANSAS," set in spaced navy capitals across the top. There is no other lettering on the print.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
