This pasta checkerboard red green border poster sets a bold red and cream grid inside a thick emerald green frame, with a different pasta shape drawn on each red square.
About the artwork
The grid is three columns by four rows of flat bright red and cream squares. Only the six red squares carry a drawing, each done in a single mustard yellow line: rigatoni at the top left, an elbow macaroni at the top right, a twisty cavatappi in the center, a flower-shaped rotelle wheel on the left, two ravioli on the right and two farfalle at the bottom center. The cream squares stay plain, and a wide flat green border wraps the whole board. There is no lettering.
Why you'll love it
- Six pasta shapes. Rigatoni, elbow, cavatappi, rotelle, ravioli and farfalle, each with its own square.
- Tablecloth graphic. The red and cream checks read like a trattoria tablecloth turned into a modern print.
- Three strong colors. Red, mustard and emerald green give it a punchy retro look without any text.
- Made to order. Printed after you buy, colour-managed, never warehoused.
Sizes and materials
- Paper — archival matte, rolled and unframed. Thirteen sizes in all: 8" x 12" through 30" x 40", plus A4–A1.
- Matte canvas — stretched on a wooden bar, no glare, ready to hang. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Framed canvas — solid wood floating frame in white, black, espresso or natural. 12" x 16" to 30" x 40".
- Pigment-based archival inks, rated to resist fading for decades indoors.
Styling it at home
Hang it in a kitchen, over a pasta shelf or above a dining bench, where the red and green can echo tea towels, pots or tiles. It looks sharp on white or cream walls, and a natural wood or white frame lets the green border do the framing. It also suits a pizzeria or an Italian deli.
Shipping and care
Unframed prints ship rolled in a protective tube. Framed canvas arrives ready to hang. Keep prints out of direct sunlight to protect the colour, and dust canvas with a dry, soft cloth.
Questions people ask
Does it have any text? No. It is a pure graphic of pasta shapes on a checkerboard.
Which pasta shapes are shown? Rigatoni, elbow macaroni, cavatappi, a rotelle wheel, two ravioli and two farfalle.
Print & materials
Every design is made to order on one of three materials:
- Fine art paper — thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks. The choice if you already own a frame.
- Matte canvas — gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box. No glass, no glare.
- Framed canvas in white, black, espresso or natural wood — a slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted. Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms; white and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
Sizes run from 8 x 12 inches up to large statement pieces, plus A4, A3, A2 and A1 for standard European frames. The exact sizes available for this design are listed in the Size menu above.
Paper weight, inks, frame details and care are all in our Material Guide.

Damage, defects & care
Every piece is printed for you after you order, so we cannot take a print back for a change of mind — please check the size and material first. Our Size Guide shows every size drawn to scale.

Keep artwork out of direct sunlight. Dust paper prints with a clean, dry cloth; wipe canvas and framed canvas gently with a clean, damp cloth. Handle paper prints by the edges until they are framed. More care tips are in our Material Guide.

Materials
Three ways to print it.
Same artwork, same colour-managed printing — the material decides how it hangs and how much wall it holds.
Fine art paper
Thick 200 gsm archival gallery-grade paper with a smooth matte finish, printed with fade-resistant pigment inks.
- The most affordable option, and the one to pick if you already own a frame.
- Reads slightly softer than canvas.
- Ships rolled in a rigid tube.
Matte canvas
Gallery-wrapped over a solid wood stretcher, ready to hang straight out of the box.
- No glass, so no glare — good for bright rooms.
- Holds a touch more contrast than paper.
- Boxed with corner guards.
Framed canvas
A slim solid-wood floating frame with the hanging hardware already fitted, in white, black, espresso or natural wood.
- Natural and espresso suit warm, timber-heavy rooms.
- White and black sit better in minimalist and monochrome spaces.
- The usual choice for a feature wall — nothing to assemble.
